What If? Alternate History: Speculate about WWII battles that never were. Could the Axis have won? What if Hitler had the bomb?

What do you think would have happened if the Germans had not stop bombing the British airfields? They switiched to cities because Hitler was mad that the RAF had bombed Berlin.

Friedrich will become famous soon enough
Well, we have got into very serious and heated discussions about it in many other threads. I suggest you to look for a little while for them. In that case you'll prevent us from having a big debate here... (maybe that's not so bad...) Although Martin and the Brits will come and say that the RAF had many aeroplanes and pilots when the Luftwaffe was bleeding to death...

Well, they had but they couldn't fight the Luftwaffe because of the preassure on the airfields, and Germany didn't bnomb the valuable british radars. Hitler thought that the people of London would force Churchill to surrender if they bombed Londen heavy enough. This is because he remembered how shocked the people of Berlin was when a single lost british bomber dumped it's bombs and made a massive amount of damage.

The 'single British bomber' is maybe mythical.

Following the 'lost Heinkels' incident of 24/25 August, the first recorded RAF bombing of Berlin was the night of 25/26 August 1940. Around 50 Hampdens and Wellingtons were despatched, destroying a wooden summer-house in the suburb of Rosenthal and injuring two people. The remainder of the bombs fell in open farmland, causing the Beliners to joke that 'Now the British are trying to starve us out'.

The RAF had another go on 28/29 August, managing this time to hit the area surrounding Gorlitzer railway station, killing eight people. The next day, Hitler gave the Luftwaffe carte blanche to attack London.
