No T-34, no KV-1. End of the USSR.

And you know how that industrialization probably came about?
Courtesy of Wilham 2 and the Germans in WW1, so Germany lost WW2 by the mistake they made in losing WW1.

No USSR, no nothing, just an empty waste with some settlements here and there along the waterways, colonized by the Teutonic Order.

Yes, a pretty silly "what-if" if you ask me.......... Here is one, What if Russia just simply didnt exist?.........Im sure that would have made Hitler's job easier....

Re: What if the industrialization of Russia never took place
Still on the bash-the-Russians theme, and what if the Russians only had broccoli and beans to eat on the eve of the Berlin assault, would that guarantee a final German victory or would they accuse the Russians of using gas warfare?

Re: What if the industrialization of Russia never took place
Of course, they would be completely screwed. Without the industrialization of Russia, Barbarrosa would have succeeded just as Hitler had planned, and Russia would be out of the WW2 picture by 1942. Germany would gain access to valuable resources, and the blitzkrieg would still appear unstoppable.
After this, any number of things could have happened.
Hitler may have tryed some crazy invasion of the UK, which most likely would fail.
He may have instead sent more troops and resources to Africa, depending on how early in 1942 they were able to finish off Russia.
Or I suppose the Germans may have tryed to continue expanding into Asia.
Most likely, England would become the next primary target.

You shouldn't have brought Botswana into the discussion. That changes everything. But wait, was Botswana industrialized by WWII or were they still building the famed PpYrs 6-B "Paper Tiger" tank during that time?
I heard that one village donated all their used Chinese take-out boxes, saved over a period of 3 years, to produce one and it was named for the daughter of the village chieftan. I can't find a reference for it, but I heard about it on the History Channel, so I know it is a fact.

Re: What if the industrialization of Russia never took place
3ball, I'm sorry but the initial premise was already without redemption. Might as well argue what-if Germany had stayed in the Stone Age, it would be a premise just as valid. That is, absurd.
