Leaving aside the clearly racist and ill-informed comments about the people of the Middle East, you have fallen into the usual trap of extrapolating the past from the present in a way that takes no account of the reasons for the anti-Americanism in the region or the outcome of 60 years of history without the state of Israel.

You state that the French and Russians sell arms to the ME countries without reference to the huge sums provided to Israel by America for their purchases (most then spent on US arms). Do you think that America would have refrained from selling arms to other clients in the region if Israel didn’t exist? The geopolitics of oil would have played just as much of a role, and America would have wanted a slice of that. For example, their preoccupation with taking over the markets of Britain are plainly apparent in the history of their dealings with Iran up to 1979, and the their involvement in numerous "regime changes" in the region are just clear.

You also ignore the fact that the main issue in the region for the last 60 years has been the antagonism between Israel and the surrounding countries. Over that period attempts by Israel to divide the countries by making overtures to individual regimes has been a major issue in the conflicts between these nations.

And the Palestinian refugee problem has been a major problem in the internal politics of some of these countries – an issue that would not have occurred without them having forced out of Palestine.

I’ve gotten used to your islamophobia, Gardner, and I’ve seen the way that you’ve tried to sh*t-stir on other forums. And I shall continue to counter any and every piece of racist cr*p you’re willing to throw out.

It used to say : 'Intelligent Discussion About WWII' at the head of this Forum.

We seem to be getting more and more into current Political controversy here which degenerates almost immediately into personal mud-slinging, disrespect and outright abuse.

I'm not taking sides here or even singling out this particular thread - it has arisen in quite a few areas of late and I have to say that I for one am getting thoroughly tired and bored with it.

There must - surely ? - be many other places on the Internet where you can all indulge in the sort of activities mentioned above.

Some of you guys are killing this Forum.

I couldn't agree with you more Za Rodinu and Martin. This senseless garbage has no place. What's more, these threads all seems to be thrown way way off topic. I think a few members here have earned themselves some time in the cooler.
