Default Rommel's Tank Army is rebuilt

I have read from some books I have that somewhere in the Middle of the Desert War, Rommel had made some numerous requests in 1941-42-43(Im not sure which year) about his desire to Send His army to italy to be rebuilt and restructured. His memoirs later stated that he believed this is why the War was lost. He mentioned that had his army been remade it could have reconquered and even gained new territory over Africa resulting in Germany getting precious fuel to Run its Thirsty mobile armies on the Eastern Front.

What do you lot think about this?

I think that it would have worked as he hoped and Germany could have got the Feul it needed to Make the Drive and Eventual Destruction of Moscow.

Where would this "precious fuel" come from? You are aware of the oil producing infrastucture and locations available in the Middle East at that time?

More importantly, where would the shipping come from to move the units to Italy?

Its always interesting in see those who think that if Rommel would have made it farther in the Mideast that he would have been able to captured oilfields and have solved part of the German's need for fuel. Unfortunately the oil producing countries were not the same ones as in the 40's as they are now. Nor did the Germans have the equipment nor the ability to search for, drill or process the crude. Not to mention once again the Logistics in keeping such an army supplied with other items There would also be the need for more troops to hold and defend the territory and coastline taken. And it would still be a draw on the other areas where troops would be needed.

Well what i have read in some accounts on Rommel, he requested manytime that he wanted 4 extra divisions, no more, no less, he wanted i addtitional Panzer, Panzer-Grenadier and two more infantry divisions, what he planned to do was to retire up to 5 Italian divisions back to the rear as reserves. This dual request and plan was before the attack on El-Alemain, plus the British were desperate to halt the next offensive, they could not allow the middle east oil fields to fall into Axis hands, i agree that the production of oil was low, not unlike today, but it kept the British supplied to fight very hard for it.
yes this is along the lines of what I had read the Italians were supposed to be something like a Rearguard to Rommel's Army as he mentioned it was his goal to get to Italy.

I dont recall his details on that but I do Belive there was some transport units and Fighters groups at Sicily at the time.

Malta didnt have the full means to Stick a thorn all the way the the Axis' butts anyway because the Italians were still Bombing them.
