Hallo, gentlemen!
This is a very strange and polemic topic. And, PLEASE, we need mature and intelligent responses based on facts.
My grandfether got pissed off when he read Lothar Machtan's "Hitler's secret", where the author points out Hitler's homosexuality. He is not the first in telling so. Nowadays it is very fashion'd to say that everybody was gay just because. I think it is stupid. It is a cheap and silly try to get into somebody's mind. Psichologysts cannot do that on a living person. Do you think that an Historian can get into a death person's mind? I do not think so. Also, I watched another Spanish historian saying it, with a book he wrote about 500 mysteries he solved. That is cheap propaganda, I think. Beside, trying to understand the behaviour of a person so mysterious as Adolf Hitler is not an intelligent issue. And all the "testimonies" and sources they use are very doubtful, as professor Ian Kershaw says in his books: "Hitler 1889-1936" and "Hitler 1936-1945". Some of us know Kershaw's professionality in some BBC series. And his book is certainly, very accurate. Just because Hitler never had a public lover, because he was surrounded of a lot of men all the time and because he was like he was, that doesn't mean anything. How much of you, guys have mostly men friends and spend a lot of time with them? Are you gay for that? No. beside, it is obvious that Hitler loved young and pretty young GIRLS. There are many love letters written by Hitler to some girls, beside there are his REAL relationships with Geli Raubaul and Eva Braun. And there is no doubt about he did love both women, for his secretary, choffer and the girls' friends. I think those are more accurate arguments than stupid historians saying that Hitler was gay, just because they cannot explains his genocide attitude, because his private life is not explainable or because some men in the SA were homosexuals. That does not change anything, there have always been homosexuals everywhere, out or inside the closet. And Hitler did not care about people's private lifes. He did not kill Röhm because he was gay, but because he was bloody unsane and wanted the money for his SA instead of the Army. I am not being prejudice ful with anybody, I am too open-minded. I am just saying that Hitler was not gay. There are no logical reasons to believe it.
What do you think, gentlemen?

I agree with you. I have seen no evidence to suggest that Hitler was gay. I spend 90% of my time around men, and i am not gay.
But whats worse is that these accusations are put over as though this is what caused Hitler to do what he did. If he was gay, then so what. But accusations like this can reflect bably on gay men.

Very well, Bish.
It is even worse to say that Hitler did al the things he did because he was gay. Since when do homosexuality changes people's mind, behaviour and intelligence? It is just stupid to think it. Some of us think that Alexander the Great is the greatest general ever. Well, he was gay. Aristoteles, Plato, Socrates, etc. All of them were gay also: Julius Cæsar, Leonardo Da Vinci, Maichellangelo, Tchaikovsky, Oscar Wilde, etc. Does it make people less intelligent, human or less them dignity? No. There are certain stories about some "cheerful" SS officer's parties "over the rainbow"... Who cares? Life styles have nothing to do with people's capabilities or values.
Hitler was not gay, but if he was; does it change anything?

I agree with the above; I haven't read enough about this to really have an opinion, but on this subject I don't care to have one. I really don't care whether he was or not. I don't think it would have made one bit of difference one way or the other. And to 'explain' the man on the assumption that he might have been, this thread might as well have been posted under the What If section...Or the So What...(of course this was written in 21st century Holland and not in 1930's Germany)

Maybe the reason resherchers bring it up is because of the Nazis persecution of gays. In the same way they try to dig up evidence that Hitler had Jewish blood. But then i guess the Nazis were not the only people to persecute gays in those days.

Because Hitler was such a private person, nobody can really say they knew him well. My opinion is that he was devoted to being a despot such as Joan of Arc was devoted to her visions. There may have been some liasons in his early life but as he became more public, I believe he worked hard to keep his life more private even from his court. Look at how he kept his mistriss hidden from all those around him. So I would say I do not believe him to be gay and anybody can take a guess just because not a whole lot is known about Hitler's private life. My zwei pfennig

Gentlemen, many thanks for responding this weird tread...
Also, in professor Kershaw's books he proofs that Hitler was not jewish also, with a lot of sources and real facts. That is why I trust his arguements.
How? Because there is a theory about Hitler's grandmother Anna Schicklgruber, who was single when his father, Alois Schicklgruber was born. But she is supossed to have worked in a jewish banker's house... some Mr. Frankenberger in Viena.
But Kershaw made research and found that there was no family named Frankenberger in Viena at that time...
But I would like to become millionaire with everybody's two cents!

Well the reason alesxander the great , caeser, etc. were gay was becuz that was partially encouraged by thier respective cultures, you were supposed to marry a virgin, and if you were gay, chances are there would be a helluva lot of virgin women to marry!

I the antique world it was very common, the part of a culture. All cultures have different conceptions about life. Now we are starting to be as tolerant as they were with these lifestyles. Because that is all what they are.

I think it is totally nuts for some mind-man to try to say Hitler was gay--I have never seen anything that could sway me to thinking he was. The author who is saying this is just trying to scam money from the public--well-he AINT getting any of mine.
This is like a friend of mine (another friend from Canada) who actually posted for sale on eban (ebay)Hitlers Testicles) and actually got bids on them. This was all a joke by my friend, as his way of getting back at eban--for banning the sale of any article showing a swaz. Naturally eban wasnt amused--and they pulled the plug on his auction. The pics of "Hitlers testes" were actually two prune seeds.

i dont think he was gay, although would explain all his hissy fits.
some say It was his feelings of inadequacy due to this condition that manifested his fear of women, which lead to his homosexuality.
also i heard he only had one ball not 2.
holy smokes! imagine the damage he would have done if he had two balls?
i guess we will never know

Hitler Gay?
There is nothing other than anecdotal evidence that shows Hitler was gay. There is however quite a bit of evidence that portrays him as almost completely disinterested in sexual matters. Females were a sexual afterthought to him, and males were a sexual non-entity to him.
This makes more sense than the gay theory. Even his marriage to Eva Braun was performed with an odd impersonal banality. In my opinion, Hitler wasn't a sexual being.
As for the one testicle theory, this has surfaced for two reasons. First, Hitler refused physicals nearly his whole life. Even his personal physican never really got a good "look" at him. Second, one of the Soviet doctors examining Hitler's remains claimed he only found one testicle. Even if he were right, the Fuhrer's body was so badly burned that it was missing about %15 of it's mass. I can't image much would be left of anything. It is not impossible that he had one testicle, but it is rather unlikely.
**note: even if he did have one testicle, he could still most likely function normally, most men who have only one do, (ie they are fertile and have normal hormone levels).
I'll answer the obvious questions now: Why the heck does Otto know so much about this kind of stuff?!?!?
I did a paper for a Research Methods class at Grad school, the goal was to find some historical personality and dispell or prove as many myths about them as possible. My topic was Hitler.

Good, Herr Feldmarschall!
I am very glad of all you who had taken this thread seriously...
I do think that there are no logical proofs about Hiter's Honosexuellität or single testicle... This doesn't change anything of all the good and bad things he did.
