Hello Bish--I cant remember--but im sure its between $40.00 to $50.00. Somewhere around that price. Its more uniforms and insignia than actual history--the "other" kind of books that mil col nuts like I get.

Ye, me to. I have a few books by Brian Davis on uniforms and Insignia. But for me, they come in useful for model building. And although the Friekorps is not really in the era that i build, i like to study what lead upto the war aswel as the war itself. I'll keep a look out.

I got my first "taste" of militaria--when I used to build 1-72nd and 1/35 scale dioramas. I found an old hardbound book that had in color--uniforms from about the 1400s to modern times. It was good as it had a few hundred colored plates. I used it for my Scots Greys, and all kinds of Napoleanic Wars figures.

Im like you--the value of having that Freikorps book--is to gain a bit more pre ww2 insight into the uniforms and equipment--which lead to the classic uniforms of ww2.

Agreed. In the same way, i like to look into the poltics. I think its just as important to try to understand what went on in the seat of power as it is to learn of the battles and machines that were the instrument of that power.

Unfortunately--I think the book will get me into dividing my meagre money into Friekorps stuff now. (SIGH) I think ill limit it to Freikorp Badges, ribbon bars (I have one with double Freikorps awards--I forget what the first one is--but the second one is of the Silesion Eagle Second Class (yellow-white yellow white yellow in color) the first is white blue white blue white blue white in color--Ill get back here sometime later with more detailed info on the awards, and will tell you where you can go to see a nice photo with info on my exact ribbon bar--if interested.
