Wellllll, back before ww2 and when my dad was a just beginning to be a teen, he did drink alot of free Dr. Pepper.
They even used to have Dr. Pepper pinball machines. These pinball machines paid you off in nickles. I do remember him telling me that on Friday evenings, he wouls stay to play the pinball machine--thus mastering it. Because of his staying and playing and winning on the machine--he won enough money to always be able to go see movies on Saturdays as well as take his sweetheart and friends out.
I still have some VERY old Dr. Pepper items which are very valuable these days.
As much as I hate politics--these are all politically related.

I'd give it a double thumbs up. It gives an excellent overview on the German Army pre and wartime.
This book is a compilation of the excellent 5 volume series on German Army uniforms, insignia etc.

Not that kind of detail. These books give you tons of detail on German uniforms and insignias, when they were instituted and how work. You DO get some history overall but not like you will have if you bought a book say talking about the Battle of the Bulge or the Battle for Stalingrad.
This book is more for the militaria collector in mind--meaning--you get info even on the kings of uniform buttons on a soldiers shoulders.
This info is presented in such a way that one cannot easily get bored. There are plenty of period photos and also color artwork plates.

C. Evans, what's the extent of your WWII library? I have a few empty shelves, so I'm just setting a goal.

Well, I've just bought Corelli Barnett's "Hitler's generals", which I think, will be a good addition to his other - and very good - book "The desert generals".
Am of course I am at about to kill myself waiting for "Lost Victories" by field marshal Von Manstein to arrive!

Hi Ike, I never really counted how many books I have. I can give a rough estimate of possibly 700? The vast majority of them are on history/military history. About 50 are on collecting militaria, about 30 are on military or historical personalities with two books devoted to John Wayne.
Now, if you want to include fiction paperbacks, throw in about another 500 books.
I also have a substantial Documentary collection--appx 500+++ taped. About 98% are on war.
I just did a brief check on my DVD collection. 99 DVDs with 90 being on war and westerns.

I have read it, well, not everything. I was very dissapointed about the amount of self-serving bias and monday morning quarterbacking, the complete lack of the Soviet POV (well, i expected this) and the lack of self-criticism.
A general's self-serving memoir par excellance, building the post-war "Hitler [insert name who didn't survive the war] screwed it all, if he only would have done as I/we suggested"-myth.
Ah, And I'm reading Karl Frieser: The Blitzkrieg-Myth.
Cheers,
