I bought this book today for $16. It really seems like it will be an interesting read, and well illustrated. I will keep you updated as I read more...

Hey gang! This book contains over 100 photographs, 75% of them never before published, except on the internet nowadays.
It also contains colour plates documenting different Hitler Youth uniforms used by members.

It was written by Hans Holztrager, who sadly, shortly before publication passed away. It was published in 2000.

CARL-I got the book from a Market here at a town called Parklea, very popular market, where I also got my book on Fallschirmjager.

Unhappy

Carl-it was published in 2000, with a second edition in 2001, so relatively new. I must say until I bought it, I had not heard of it, so...

Sounds interesting. Was it about major units such as the 12SS or smaller units and the battles the HJ participated such as those in Berlin? Thanks.

Pzjgr-It focuses strictly on HJ untits that fought at home, not the division itself.

Panzerknacker - I presume there are some stories in it from the PanzerJagd units. An impressive name for young guys on cycles with two Panzerfausten attached at the front. I read about this subject in Berlin from Beevor and I am curious about stories from these units.

Thanks for the extra info Ryan--i'll look for a copy. I've been getting more interested in this particular subject ever since I read: "Berlin: Dance of Death" which was written by a Hitler Youth that fought in Berlin.

I agree with you--most any Bender title is an excellent book. I wish I could afford them all. As of yet--I own not a one--and I don't know what my malfunction is.

I can vouch for this book as well, when I ordered it I expected 12th SS as well,as stated the subject matter is regarding HJ at home.Contains some pretty tragic stories of senseless waste to be honest, well written.
Don't know if its the same format in the United States, large format, blue cover with artwork on front, fairly thin ?
Regards
