guys the book has now been postponed for shipment by two weeks according to the distributor to the US of A, of course it has...... ! it seems that this will be Kagero's most popular attempt as of yet

just in from an English friend......not bad for the buck ! Poor translation from Polish to English whcih unfortuantely is common with the Polish and Czech english publications covering the Luftwaffe units....

nice profiles but I know for fact one is labeled incorrectly via the book review on the net.

photos are basically copies of the Reschke photos in Willi's book........hhhhhhmmmmmmmm sounds like a copyright issue that I am sure Willi will take charge of. again interesting to me that the other titles under the Kagero line have been published in the staes but not this one....

I await till mid August it appears for confirmation.....boo hoo

Barf ~ puke icon bitte ........

this little piece of garbage came to my door two days ago. 20.00 not well spent. With decals in 1/72md and 1/48th scales. The profiles included although bright and cheery are bogus as the authors did not do their homework. Sad but this is a direct copy almost word for word of Willi Rescheke's classic Jg 301/302. The only thing going for it is the Germanic version has been treanslated into English. Concerning a most notable day 26 November 44 where the Fw 190's of JG 301 got butt kicked; several errors were noted, even with quotations from Willi's own journals.......

and with these type of books being printed and claimed as fact, it pushes me ever more so to get my books into print.......

Warnung, do not buy this book, if you do, send me a private and I can fill you in

I don't get this. What are these publishers thinking?

WW2 Aviation is a niche market. Except for a few exceptions, these books do not reach the masses and sales remain generally in the hundreds. You would think that because this is such a small and demanding market, publishers think twice, three times before publishing (and many publishers do! ) and make sure their publication is the best they can possible put out.

By putting out these kind of books, they shoot themselves in the foot, because the 'mouth to mouth/word to mouth(?)' is very quick in this small world.

And when I hear what possible gems are waiting to be published or probably never will be, I wonder if I should change careers and become a publisher...

My friend, as I see it, kagero in this a/c publishing role is trying to market little in-expensive booklets on known units derived from German publications as direct translations. They did not do a very good job at least with the JG 301 pub. Because they include decal sets for several a/c then there must be a nitch of some sort with modelers but the problem is historical accuarcy. In the case of JG 301 they seemed not to give a rats ass. A good friend told me about the JG 7 title and he wishes he had not purchased it. Also the NJG 2 fernenachtjagd purchased by a German friend. The cover art on the Me 410 with the long rod 5cm bk cannon is all wrong !

you got me where these guys come from but there is now a proliferation of just bad junk coming out in paper no matter what theater of ops a person is interested in........

two cents from a very peeeeeeeeeod off historian

I paid 20.00 US for the book and it is selling overseas for around $ 9.00 or the equivalent thereof
