Just wanted to say that I'd heard of a book on the unit histories of the scalleybacks and got my library to get me a copy...throughly interesting read and if anyone is into the signal units I'd suggest they look for a copy...limited edition of 1000 by Lord and Watson and published by Helion and Co...and I'm not even selling this book!
Will be selling a book on the 2nd South Staffs in WW2 soon though.

Sounds like an interesting book, AB Medic. I checked on the Helion site. Does it add to the story already known about the Signals units at Arnhem??? Maybe No.9 would think the Commando bits are of interest.

The South Staffs book, is that the recently published work by Simon Haines??

No, Niall is referring to the all-new book due out very soon via Robert Sigmond Publishing...

( I'm sure more details will follow.... )

For Stevin,
No doesn't really add anything to the story of the airborne signallers except how they were formed and what they became. The only real account of the 1st AB Division signals in 'Echoes from Arnhem' by Lewis Golden....out of print for ages and not often seen on the second hand market I think.
