I've just received it. Hasn't read it yet.
Has anyone read it? Is it good? What do you think of it?

Another valuable book - Liddell Hart was allowed to interrogate, or more likely, converse with, the captured German senior officers whilst they were in captivity immediately after the war.
I have a copy here - it was called 'The Other Side Of The Hill' in the UK. I think Liddell Hart has been criticized for doing a little editing to suit his own ideas, but is fascinating to read. One of the best interviews is that with Manteuffel about the Ardennes; he is very clear and concise.

Thanks for the comment, Martin! I had indeed heard about Lidell Heart's "The other side of the hill", but I didn't know it was the same book.

Excellent reading! I have read it myself few months ago and was deeply impressed. Most fascinating is the way Liddel Hart made conversations with generals, sometimes I had an impression he is a journalist making an interview for some magazine

I read this book earlier this year too. I thought it was easy to read and gave me an insight into hitler and his relationships with some of his generals that I had not known before. Indeed another picture emerged than I had read before. For example Hitler's disinterest in conquering England, and that some generals didn't think some of hitler's tactical decisions weren't that crazy anyway.
A very interesting book, Fried!

Dont know what he wants it for, I thought Rundstedts after the event memories were romantacised....And it wasnt us that did the naughty things it was them implications have been long since proved incorrect. The author seems to have fawned over his experience of getting on a one to one basis with these guys too. Good old Liddel.
My own views of course.
