Friedrich will become famous soon enough
I have become quite obsessed about this battle in the last two days and I've read everything I could at my dispossal. But now I'd like to know of one or more very good books with a lot of detail on the whole battle —naval and land operations— for the whole duration of the battle.

Suggestions anyone?

I would start with the official Marine, US Army and, Morrison's naval history of the campaign. For the air war, see Lundstrom's The First Team vol 2.

I was thinking of :

</font>
  • "Guadalcanal: The Definitive Account of the Landmark Battle" by Richard B. Frank</font>
  • "Guadalcanal" by Eric Hammel</font>
  • "The Battle for Guadalcanal " by Samuel B. Griffith</font>
What do you think?
