I read this book last summer after my father reccomended it to me and it remains one of my favorite pieces of literature ever written. Guy Sajer writes with brutal honesty and fantastic detail. I think this is one of the best books written from the infantryman's perspective. This book just shows the steady decline of the Wehrmacht from mid-war until the very end. What are your thoughts if you have read this?
