Default Citizen Soldiers

I am reading Stephen E. Ambrose's "Citizen Soldier". I would love a book to get the feel of 1930's Europe. Anyone that can recommend one that would be great. I am very greatful for this site,so I can learn from others with tons to share. The Omega

Maybe others can help you with the book writers and their countries.

Maybe Hemingway is one writer worth checking.

Hope this helps!

1930's Europe is a pretty broad subject. It all depends on what you want to focus on. I can recommend some books on Germany that cover the 1920's-1930's. Its kind of hard to say 'i want a book on the 1930's' since historians generally classify things into a 'period' based off of certain event.

Mark Mazower's book 'Dark Continent - Europe's Twentieth Century' is well recommended and quite easy to get hold of.....
