Default He's in the Paratroops Now by A.D.Rathbone IV

"GREETINGS & SALUTATIONS!" Several years ago I acquired a series of books by the Robert M. McBride Company of New York City. They were published between 1941 and 1944 and had titles like: "He's in the Air Corps Now," "He's in the Armored Force Now," "He's in the Artillery Now," etc., covering the Cavalry, Coast Guard, Destroyers, Engineers, Marine Corps, Merchant Marine, Navy, Paratoops, Signal Corps, and Sub-Busters, and Submarines, as well!
These books were probably made for civilians, especially young men not old enough to enlist, but in a year or so later. These books were stocked on the shelves in libraries across the U.S.A. long after the end of the Second World War and are loaded with great photographs that givfe a glimpse of life in the early 1940s prior to and during WW2.
Presently I am scanning "YOUR YEAR IN THE ARMY" (1941) by Major John David Kenderdine of the U.S. Army Infantry Reserve. Like the other books, this one is about 200 pages more or less! I scan these and other books and booklets to CD disks so they can fit easily in slots on my computer desk instead of gathering dust on my many shelves of books.
As these books are older than 27-years and often printed by the government, no copyright problems even though I do not sell my CDs. I also like to scan pictures of insignia and photographs others have taken of their rarities and common insignia and uniforms, makes an enjoying past-time. But, getting back to books like "HE'S IN THE PARATROOPS NOW," really great timeless reading and nostalgic pictures as well, what a great time there is to be had in such books! Respectfully yours, Sarge Booker of Tujunga, California (hhbooker2@yahoo.com)
