Default Historical Fiction

I finally found a bookstore in the area, called Books-a-Million, very much like a Borders or Barnes & Nobles, and it actually had a pretty good section on World War II. Picked up The Bedford Boys and another book about the Bulge, but my main purchase was from the Science Fiction and Fantasy Section. (which was also surprisingly good with many books i havent seen before).

The book i picked up is called Fiends of the Eastern Front. I first read the title as 'Friends' instead of Fiends but was none-the-less intrigued by its title and cover, which had a Swasticka and a German Soldier on the cover. Once i read the description, i immediately thought of the image in Ottos Signature, The Lost Squad. I have never read The Lost Squad but upon reading the back of the book i discovered that the book i had picked up was the Triology of a book based on a 44-page comic. The Author had been the editor of a magazine and was asked to write a 70,000 word story based on the Comic.

I've read the first 90 pages so far and its pretty interesting. So far its about Vampires (and more then likely the Undead will appear in the future) who are actually the Romanian Contingent signed to German Units. Follows an Infantryman, a Panzer III Crew, and a Luftwaffe pilot. So far the Soldier knows about the Vampires as he pieces together a few events and talks to an Italian War Correspondent who has had a run in with the Romanians too.

Well, wont say much more but is a book i've never come across before.
