Default Brothers in Battle, Best of Friends

Wild Bill Guarnere and Babe Heffron are releasing the book they wrote with Robyn Post. Brothers in Battle, Best of Friends. They were on the radio in Philadelphia this morning. It was great to hear them... they both have good senses of humor.

It's out now. I went to their book signing in Philadelphia last night but I was a bit late getting there after work, and every copy was sold out. There was a line around the store. These guys are like rock stars.

I just checked Amazon and the Barnes and Noble websites and it seems to be available both places.

Update - I read the book and it was everything I had hoped it would be. Guarnere and Heffron are direct, thoughtful, and funny. Robyn Post is invisible, but the care she took in organizing this book is obvious. I would recommend it to anyone.

Here's a picture of them signing books at a Barnes and Noble in downtown Philly around October 2007. Their book sold out before they even showed up for the book signing.

The book is such good reading. It's like having the two vets telling you a story. You could almost hear their voices talking. It's so funny how they out-partied and outdrank the cast of Band of Brothers when they visited the set during filming.

One of my favorites scenes form the Band Of Brothers series, is these 2 walking in the woods of I think Foy, anyway it was moving to me.

I find that poignant too, right enough when I watch the veterans speaking on television or standing where they fought and seeig the emotion in their faces there is no need for words, that gets to me too!
