Thumbs up A Story of Arnhem - S/Sgt W Holcroft

Just got this in; a self-produced book(let) by S/Sgt W Holcroft of the Glider Pilot Regiment on his actions at Arnhem. I am halfway through it, but this is a nicely written personal memoir, which I think is more than worth the GBP 3 plus postage. It can be bought from the Cricklade Museum's website, together with some other interesting looking books like "Transport Command 46 Group", "Short History of RAF Blakehill Farm" and "Dakotas At Down Ampney"

It came out about 4 years ago and I seem to recall a couple of other Arnhem related booklets at the same time from the Cricklade Historical Society....one about operations from one of the RAF stations...I'll have a look tonight....

What is your opinion of the Holcroft booklet, Airborne Medic?? I thought it was a nicely written memoir, but don't know enough details to know if he has his facts right. But as a memoir, I really liked it.

I'll have to have another look at it.....with regard to the GPR I'm led to believe a book on the GPR at Arnhem is in preparation and also one due out by Christmas on Operation Varsity......
