Re: wanted poles!
Yes - I have a copy which I bought just after it came out. It's very good, very detailed and virtually the only up-to-date English-language source about the Poles at Arnhem.
My only slight criticism is that is doesn't 'read' too easily, but if Arnhem is your 'thing' it's a useful book to have. I think I paid about £15 for mine.....

Re: wanted poles!
I'd agree with my learned colleague Martin....as for £100 perhaps a bit OTT....but copies hard to find and one of the few books on the Poles.....

Re: wanted poles!
Yes there are a few recent books where this happens ( the 'Concord' title about German armour at Arnhem is another example ).
It's a little like Russian roulette : pity the guys who pay £100+ or whatever and then there's a reprint which suddenly brings the price of the original editions crashing to earth.....

Re: wanted poles!
Just the other day there was a Polish text book on Ebay about the Polish Airborne at Arnhem. I put in a bid, but it went above what i would pay for a book that I would never be able to read....
Martin, Airborne Medic, aren't the people in Arnhem not heavily researching this aspect? There have been quite some book out the last few years by Dutch researchers, but somehow the Poles still elude proper attention. AFAYK, is there something in the making???

To my knowledge the Poles certainly get ignored book wise......some months ago a Dutch I think brought out a book on the dead Poles from Arnhem.....and I can't recall what iti s called.
I suppose that if someone does an excellent book on particular unit it is difficult to try and do another......like Poles Apart and Off at Last........I don't know of anyone who's looking at the Poles.....
However, I think I can reveal that a book on the 21st should be out in 2008 and a booklet on the defence of the schoolhouse at the road bridge also.....

Re: wanted poles!
Another Polish book that has jumped out of the woodwork is 'With the Red Devils at Arnhem' by Marek Swiecicki.
It was I think the first book ever published about Arnhem....it came out in 1945 and was written by a Polish War Correspondent and 'rushed out'...
I don't have a copy myself (yet) but have one on the way to me.....

Re: wanted poles!
The books about the poles are rare and therefore expensive. I have a few things about the Raf Squadrons , but not so much about the pole sat D-Day or at Arnhem.

Thanks for that Airborne Medic....I have my 1946 copy on the way too! Only 10 EUR and in good shape. Should be here next week.....
I used to bei n touch with some Brits whose (grand)dads were Polish servicemen who stayed on in England (Scotland mostly) after the war. They were trying to get the Polish contribution to the war and their father's stories to the fore...
