Default Twilight of the Gods

Just finished this memoir of a Swedish waffen SS volunteer and his days of service in the 11th SS Nordland Division. The book concentrates on the last 6 months of the war, including the battle of Berlin. I've read quiet a few memoirs and this one is by far the most violent, and graphically brutal. In fact, a lot of the scenes were hard to take. I highly recommend it, but not for the faint of heart. Its almost beyond belief that Eric Wallin survived at all. All through the book I kept thinking that Wallin was there by choice, he never had to join, he could have stayed safe in Sweden. However, he fought to protect western civilization and culture from communism and never once regrets his choice, staying loyal to the end to his comrades in the Waffen SS.

Hey hawkmoon i read this book a while back and would agree with your comments the description of the last days in berlin were probably the best i have read, i know a lot of ss memoirs get slated but i think this was written honestly and we cant really ask for more.
