Default HEIMDAL BOOKs, any good??

This is my first post on this forum and after days of searching for a WWII forum to join this one seemed perfect, somewhat “newbie” friendly! My question is in regards to military books published by Heimdal editions. Are they worth purchasing? I’ve heard that the older editions were the best ones to buy b/c the photos are clearer. I’ve also read that their newer offerings have degraded in quality. What is everyone’s opinion? Which titles should I avoid and which are a must? Sorry maybe a quick background of my interest… I like photo books with action shots, armor, infantry etc. I’m not too enthused about pictures that depict training or admin movements unless it flows with the rest of the book. Please advise!

I’m sorry Erich I should’ve been clear. I’m mostly interested in the quality of these books. I understand they are in French but I want to own a good picture book that depicts battles in the Western Front. Something comparable to the Citadel photo books from JJF. Are the photographs clear and of good quality or small & blurry? I was told the older editions were great but the newer Heimdal books suffered in quality. I’m not too concerned about a specific unit but I do enjoy books of the PZR DIV in action, WAFFEN SS, armor or infantry in the field. A few I was looking at included:
GÖTZ VON BERLICHINGEN
FALAISE 1944 By Georges Bernage
21 Panzer Division

FalkeEins will become famous soon enough

..they are similar in quality to 'After the Battle' - in fact the two companies appear to 'share' authors & titles ( eg Pallud 'Rückmarsch') & the 'Then & Now' format...the 'Falaise' title has just been reprinted in hardback after appearing on the news-stands as a quarterly magazine..

The 'Normandie Album Memorial' is a nice title

I do find Heimdal incredibly expensive - just look at the prices on ebay.fr

They are high quality, first class pictures and historically very interesting and accurate. They are among my favorites. They are also the publishers of 39-45 Magazine and they hav emany specials.

Their SS-Pz-AA10 is excellent and I also appreciate the quality of Frappé's book about the Luftwaffe in 1944. Another I recommend is the Enfer de Brest about the Festung Brest Battle. They deal with many intesting subjects including very specialized ones, but not only battesl and units: for instance an entire book about WWII Jerricans and you are right they are incdredibly expensive .... on Ebay . I never buy them there. But you probably saw out of print issues , which are very rare.

Here are the new issues at normal prices : Les éditions heimdal

Thankyou for the input. I'm going to take the plunge and purchase "21 PZR DIV." & a title from After the Battle. FalkeEns, after all my browesing of book titles I never made the connection between Heimdal & ATB. Thanks again..
