Default "The Retreat" by Michael Jones

And yes the Battle of Moscow was the first defeat of Germany's land warfare machine in WWII.

And it does not appear to be available in the USA just now.

Grrrrr... I want it!

I am a fan of Andrew Nagorski's "The Greatest Battle" I wonder how Michael Jones's book will stack up.

Hi Slon;
Well my order seems to have gone through and I hope there are no problems what with me being in Yankland and all. It's projected to take slightly under two weeks, and I think this might be one of those reads where I find myself taking time off work. Nogorski is great to be sure-but Mike Jones is no doubt well aware of where Andrew has gone on this vast subject, and has explored other areas. Moreover; Jones gets out there with his tape recorder and talks to survivors, and his and others' efforts in this regard might be the most important historical research going on in these times.
