I just saw the new movie Unbreakable...and one of the previews was of the up coming movie Pearl Harbor. It was a new version of the previous trailer with some new scenes shown. It looks pretty good! There was one scene that continues to bother me...and i hope it is remideed when it is released. They frequently show modern class warships in the movie. It hope they are switched with coreect class ships. They did have the battleships correct...we'll see!
Looks to me that in the end Saving private Ryan will still win with historical accuracy...but the effects look good...and the accuracy doesn't look to bad...It also looks to be a "USA cheese" movie almost like a propaganda movie...but hell I DON'T CARE GO USA!
but even if historical accuracy isn't the best i love being tanken to the past even if it is a slightly off anyway. CLOSE ENOUGH!
I'm buying my tickets days before to ensure me opening night seats!!!!!!!!

Yes I saw that one before Unbreakable a few weeks ago. They go into MUCH more detail than the previous trailer. Lookin' good! But one thing sorta puzzled me: If you notice (on both trailers) the theme music is "Approaching the Line" which was in the score for The Thin Red Line. I wonder if that will be in the soundtrack for Pearl Harbor as well?

I see that this movie will be rated PG-13. I still CAN'T WAIT to see this movie but...i doubt you will have realism of fighting...or much of it...because to portray the realism of war...i know you need an R rating..BUT the previews still look good so we'll find out soon enough...only about a month and a half to go!

That Kinda sucks Snefru, but congrats anyway! I agree with you Ron, no movie can express the loss and death that really went on in something like a PG-13 rating. But then again wasn't the THIN RED LINE PG-13? That wasn't such a bad movie.

Well like for SPR...the thing was showing plain and simple reality...a man carrying his blown off arm...mangled bodies...and man with entrail hanging out calling for his mommy...that can't be shown in PG-13...and it's not that i get a kick out of it...but i look for that becuse terrible horrible things like that did happen in real life...i'm sure before SPR most people thought of people just getting shot in WW2...like bam your dead...nice and clean...but war is dirty and gross and shocking...and my point is true raw battle can't be created in true unadulterated form with PG-13 BUT...i wanna see it...and i think it will be great WOOWOO

Hey-Congradulations Snefru!
If you want to see a decent war movie thats on the lighterside of things, then you are in luck. Watch the movie: Hannibal Brooks which is going to be on I think Showtime sometime thursday morning.
This movie is pretty cool and has Oliver Reed, Wolfgang Priess and Michael J. Pollard as the "comedy" part to it. The movie isnt great but is worth watching if not for the action, then watch it for the scenery as it was on location shooting. Heck, I even walked some of the roads that you will see in the movie while I was in Germany. You will see scenes with a closed ski-resort (I was there) and another scene near a white church (I was there also)
