What an excellent show it was. The last episode brought out the tissues, and it was quite gruesome in parts.
Why is Captain Sobel reluctant to salute Major Winters, I mean yeah he probably hates the guy, but how dare he go past a superior officer without saluting!!!
And this business about "points"-what a ridiculous idea-I have started a posting in WW2 General about this topic...
Can't wait till it's out on DVD!!!

The 10th chapter is definately my favourite! It is sublime!
What did you guys think about the German Generalleutnant making the Yanks cry!!! Finally they bloody realised that they were not fighting against monsters, but just a "band of brothers" like them!!!
By the way, didn't you love the general's uniform and what about his Knight's Cross with oakleaves and swords?!!!

He's the same guy who plays an officer in Raiders Of The Lost Ark. His uniform is very nice.
This episode was brilliant...I hate Captain Sobel though because of his disrespect for Major Winters...

If you guys havent, you should read Band of Brothers by Ambrose. Its what the series is based on and you'll understand why Sobel doesnt salute Winters.
And the point system was pretty bad. A cook who hadnt even seen combat would have the same number of points as a good deal of the men of E Company who had been fighting since Normandy. The Point system was pretty bad in the sense it wasnt fair to everyone.
Also, having not seen band of Brothers (my vid store doesnt have it) the book is great as it tells you what happened to the men after the war. One of them became a Multimillionaire! Some suffered severly after the war, i think it might have been Sobel who shot himself in the head (but didnt kill himself, but died a few years later). Its a great book to read.
