those guys were patriots in every sense of the word, they didn't even have proper winter clothing. That shelling sequence in the Bastogne episode was so insane, how about when Spiers ran through the German lines at the end! and he really did that as well. Of course there was no liberal media to show him shooting up those German POWs, the media really doesn't belong in war, all it does is turn the people who aren't there against it. Thats quoting an Ex-Iraqi Freedom Vet by the way, could you imagine if our modern media was there during Market Garden? Battle of the Bulge? or even the bloody shorelines of the D-Day beaches and having a running tally of the number of soldiers killed. Although I don't believe thats why we lost Vietnam, Vietnam was lost because we didn't fight it right. You put boots on the ground in the North, you bomb the Vietcong trails in Cambodia.

Re: What have you been watching?
its on hold/cancelled, if Flags of Our Fathers/Letters from Iwo Jima did well at the box office they were going to do a Pacific mini-series but since they both tanked at the box office all the producers Spielberg ect... dropped out.

Thats not quite true. Speilburg and Hanks are still doing the Pacific. I know at least one member of another forum who has been cast in the series. Filming is going on now. check out the thread about it here:

You don't happen to remember the name of the documentary?
Problem with Kersten is that his own account is not the most reliable source in the world.

Re: What have you been watching?
The sons of Kaitie Elder is on tonight.
I remember this film from my early years. I think it was the first real western I ever saw.
Looking forward to The Duke and Martin in tandem. Specially the legendary "eye raffle", Carl will know what I am talking about.
