I recently saw Legionnaire, a film which cast Jean-Claude Van Damme as a French Foreign Legionnaire in 1920s Morocco.

Themightyjug I also recommend Cross of Iron and Enemy at the Gates if you want to see the war from a different point of view. Both movies are also form the Eastern Front.

I've recently watched Twelve o'clock High with Gregory Peck. Very good account of the early bomber campaign and the personal and command problems at HQs.
Also I watched The Desert Fox with James Mason. Pretty lousy. It's not a biographical nor a historical film, it's just a bad combination of all those things… also, there's an Italian-accented and very ridiculous Hitler… Only good thing: good editing of war film footage.
But I watched All Quiet in the Western Front (1929) and it's become one of my favourite films ever! It's just amazing. A great film based on a great book. The little adaptation they made was spectacular, battle scenes are impressive and cinematography is supperb! Highly recommended!

'Twelve O'Clock High' is to me, one of the best ever war movies.
The justifiably famous opening scene ( the old airfield, and the wind blowing the crops turning into prop-wash ) is unforgettable......

I just saw the movie Victory . It was pretty good. It was about allied POWs playing a soccer game against the Germans. I guess I like it because Sylvester Stallone was in it. I'd watch anything with him in it because I loved the Rocky series(except for Rocky 5).

The Wolfenstein type nazi creatures in the film "Hellboy" were rather amusing, I think. the director could have **** it all but I think he made rather a nice job of them...

Loved Hellboy...
Mainly due to the clockwork Nazi assasin... And the thought that I may well add a few zombies and Nazi scientists to my wargames army...

I just got my copies of Kelly's Heroes & Das Boot. They really don't make'um like that any more. Are really fun movies, especially Das Boot.
P.S. Is that a British tank they try to pass off as a Tiger in Kelly's Heroes?

How bout when the Tiger was turning its turret around and it gets stuck on the tree. That always make me laugh. A real Tiger would have snapped the tree in half or simply uprooted it!
My favorite character was Oddball.
Oddball: "Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?"

Just saw a document on nazi period dance culture.
For instance:
http://www.mary-wigman.de/
http://www.bartleby.com/65/wi/Wigman-M.html
Interesting point in Berlin 1936 Olympics as the starting ceremony a dance by some 1,200 persons was practiced for a long time. The previous day Göbbbels saw the last rehearsal, the papers mentioned it absolutely fabulous, Göbbels did not like it and cancelled it...Not enough herrenvolkisch...

Just saw the "Downfall" on the last days of the Reich last Tuesday. Pretty good. But you have to know quite alot of people ( from the bunker)otherwise you really don´t understand the movie except for the mad Hitler shouting at everyone...
I do think Bormann never said a word in the film?? Or am I wrong?

I saw Windtalkers this weekend. Some of the action was a bit cartoonish, and Nicholas Cage and Christian Slater were a bit of a stretch as Marines, but it was an interesting take on a very interesting part of WWII history.

The Producers by Mel brooks
The musical has nazi arm-band wearing chickens, dancing storm troopers, dirty old ladies with euphemisms such as “Lick-me Bite-me” and “Hold-me, Touch-me”, a song with the refrain “Don’t be stupid / Be a smarty / Come and join the Nazi party!” And the marvellously scandalous closing number “Spring Time for Hitler”, which sees an outrageously camp Fuhrer take centre stage.
