Cool

While checking the 'net for information about Jack Palance, I noticed that several websites claim he piloted a bomber in WWII and was burned during a crash; giving his face its' distinctive look.

Anyone have any detailed info about Palance' WWII career ?

Jack Palance US Army Air Corps. 455th bomb group. Required facial reconstruction from terrible injuries received in 1943 when his B17 crash landed in Britain.

Hmmmmm....curiouser !

The 455th was a B-24 outfit of the 15th AF operating out of Italy, and didn't get there until 1944.....
