Thumbs up Dunkirk: w/ Sir John Mills.

Got in my copies of this great movie about 2 weeks ago and have watched it twice in two days. It's better than I remembered it was. This movie not only stars Sir John Mills, but also has Bernard Lee (the guy who was in charge of the 007 agents in many of the James Bond movies) and Sir Richard Attenborough (probably best known ((at least to Amis)) as Big "X" in: The Great Escape)

Anyway, if those of you who have never seen this fine film ever get a chance to watch it-it is a must-see.

Thumbs up Re: Dunkirk: w/ Sir John Mills.

It is a classic British war movie, and IMPO it wipes the floor with the Dunkirk scenes in this years' Atonement.....

And the main characters are meant to be in the Wiltshire Regiment if I remember correctly.
Which would make them 2nd Bn men from 5th Div.

Hey Gents, thanks for the input and information. ;-))

Yep, I can't get enough of this movie. IM going to watch it at least once more this year - followed by: The Colditz Story.

Also, i've been catching a lot of British Cinema on TCM recently. There's tons of great stuff made across the pond that is great entertainment. It really lacks here because we don't get to see much classic British Cinema shown here.

Oh and, apparently David Niven was very active in Hollywood early on, I think it was the night before last that I cought him in a nice comedy-made here, that also starred Ginger Rogers. I'll tell you one thing, he was a pretty handsome Matinee Idol and Ginger rogers, was a Fox; in those days. I don't remember the name of the movie but, it was an excellent change of pace for me.

I've just Googled "david.niven ginger.rogers" and came up with Bachelor Mother from 1939, does that make any sense?
