9th of April 1940 Germany invaded Denmark and Norway. Denmark fell without firing a shot, but in Norway the Germans met restistance.
The battle went on for two months before the norwegians laid down their arms.
The German propaganda machine wanted to make a movie on the "Feldzug", and assigned the famous German film producer Martin Rikli to the project.
The movie disappeared during the last days of the war, and was considered lost.
One day a couple of years ago a norwegian historian and collector of WWII stuff discover the film in an auction. Nobody else seem to be interested in the artifact, obviously ignorant about its value, and as the only bidder he gets the film for a few Euros!
It turns out to be a copy, but in very good condition. The movie is digitally remastered on the expense of the Norwegian Government and made available on CD.
The movie is already on YouTube, and below you will find some links to the site.
The speaker is german, but he has a very clear and distinct pronounciation, which makes it an excellent lesson in the German language!
The CD has subtitles in norwegian, german and english, but in these YouTube videos there are only the german voiceover. I suppose that is no problem for you guys on this forum:
