Some months ago I interviewed German night-fighter ace Martin Drewes at his house in southern Brazil. With the video material in hand, we started the production of a biographic documentary, which I believe is going to be concluded by October, 2008.

Wonderful Julio! The trailer is very captivating. It's the first time I see a 2008 picture of Herr Drewes. I can't wait until the final version gets released. Is it going to be available on DVD?

This is a pair of Dutch resistance crystal radios, built into a small metal can, and a matchbox. The image is from a postcard bought at a Dutch Resistance Museum in Amsterdam. The matchbox is marked in Swedish, but Swedish matches were sold in Holland for many years..

Julio, I am glad that you and your colleagues took this initiative. Have you shown this video to Oberleutnant Drewes ? By the way, on this Sunday I had the great honour of talking to OLt Drewes in a restaurant . He came briefly to our table to salute my father. He mentioned the coming 20th anniversary of his arriving and that he was looking forward to go to a international WW2 veteran pilots meeting. We plan to pay him a visit soon and I should post a couple of pictures here.

I think one of my friends have shown him the trailer already. Just correcting: it's Oberstleutnant (Lieutenant-Colonel) Drewes, not Oberleutnant (First-Lieutenant).

When I was there last February, he invited me to Olimpico too (he loves that restaurant). What a great meal! If you do visit him, send my regards. And please post those pics!
