Default The Eagle has Landed Question....

Could someone...ANYONE...please clear something up for me please? At the VERY end of the film, Devlin is standing on a ridge at the beach with the two traitor doggies. He looks down and sees the German E-Boat beached. Has the boat been destroyed? Is it waiting for high tide? What the heck is going on with it please?

The boat missed the tide. They waited too long for Col Steiner. That is one of my most favorite movies. I love the theme song. For some reason, the DVD version I have deleted the part where the fallshirmjager is playing it on the church organ as they are fighting to buy Steiner time to get away. Grrrrrr.

More than likely captured. Left to the viewer's speculation.
