Re: WW2Talk.com
Owen, disregard my PM, I thought you couldn't upload photos to ww2talk.
Do you have any problems accessing ww2talk? It should be as before.

On ie7:
Tools>Internet options>general tab/browsing history>delete>
Opens options for cleaning. Temp files and cookies are the ones to flush.

PM'd you on how to clear your DNS cache mate, (didn't want to put command line stuff in public, but it is a very harmless command.)

Re: WW2Talk.com
I am now throughly narked.
I've had to renew GWF password and this sites password too.
As for WW2Talk I'm still there by meself, password still works even though I've done everything you said.
Really annoyed after adding those images.
Well I lived without the site for 2 weeks so tata.
Bollocks to it all.

Come on mate, we've been waiting to see those piccies; it's just a minor techie hic-up. We need old hands on the site, especially ones fresh back from Normandy.

Damn right Paul,
It's a minor update thing that will cure itself.
Blame the internet & ISP's bizarre Domain Name System but not the site itself.

Re: WW2Talk.com
Do you really think this sad old git would not come back?
Just a five minute throwing toys out of the pram.
Ask the Mrs she'll tell you all about my little fits.
See what happens later tonight.

Re: WW2Talk.com
What's going on with you, I've been to WW2Talk twice today and had no problems at all browsing or posting.
Owen, this is cruel but I have a friend with a speech impediment. He would pronounce your name as "Wessex Wyvegn"

That bitch DNS!
Owen it seems that you are looking at the ghost version of the site. Your ISP, or the people your ISP rely on for this, are screwing the pooch. If there was something I could do on my end, I would. As I said in my PM to you, the internet DNS system is a temperamental bitch!
Try accessing the website via this NinjaProxy.com, just type the website you want to visit (in this case ww2talk.com) in the box supplied. This should give you the most current DNS version out there. You should see the ww2talk on the new server.

Re: WW2Talk.com
Cheers Otto, but I had to rely on a proxy last year when the Greek bloke bought WW2Talk.
Too much faffing about, tried to log on as myself on WW2Talk via the proxy just now and that got nowhere.
I'm still narked that all my uploading this morning has gone to waste.
Maybe I'll come back tomorrow.
Just very dissappointed I can't share my photos with you all.
A glum Owen D, and not just cos I gotta go back to work tomorrow.
At least I got the 7th Sussex lad's grave in Abbeville to his Great-neice today. That made me feel better and I got a grave photo from St. Valery to someone whose asked on GWF back in May.
I've made three women happy today, those two and the Mrs.

Re: WW2Talk.com
If this happened before, it sounds like your ISP is a little slow with DNS updates.
The proxy is just to see if you could access the most current version, which I hope you did. It's not as good for logging into accounts, the extra step seems to trip things up.
Sorry about the photos, all I can say is hang in there, you will have access soon enough.
