The Recent User Title Changes
You may have noticed some funny business going on with your titles recently, instead of "Junior Members", "Members" & "Senior Members" we now have "recruits", "Members", "Veterans", "Aces" & " Experten". Just so you know, I'm just testing the rank/title system and seeing how things look and work.
More changes are on the way, as this is just a first small step of a large overhaul of the user rank system. Don't worry, I'll keep you Rogues update as the upgrades are implemented.

Re: The Recent User Title Changes
Cool Otto. I was tired being a Senior for ever. It feels kind of odd being called a "Veteran" though, it's almost too much compared to those who really served. I shall certainly cherish this title. I also noted Peppy adopted my "Experten" proposal and I must say I'm kind of proud to see this materialize. Keep on with the good work§ I think these changes add a very postive touch to the forum.

Re: The Recent User Title Changes
I am somewhat disappointed. I was expecting something more in the lines of:
Quote:
organizer and inspirer of the gigantic historic victories of the Soviet people;
brilliant genius of humanity;
standard-bearer of peace;
great leader and teacher;
the great architect of Communism;
the great godparent and continuer of Lenin's work;
the leader of progressive humanity;
the banner, pride, and hope of all progressive humanity;
great coryphaeus of science;
resolving more profoundly than anyone else the most complicated questions of our time;
the greatest humanist of our time
understanding better and more clearly than anyone else the interests of the millions of ordinary people of the world;
original giant of revolutionary thought and action;
ingenious thinker and scholar, forging all-powerful and unconquerable spiritual armament for the proletariat;
most worthy successor of Lenin;
true friend and dependable brother-in-arms of Lenin;
founder of the Red Army [Some lying bourgeois historians have the effrontery to credit this to fascist hireling L.D. Trotsky], organizer and inspirer of its victories;
great initiator of all the best enterprises of the country;
experienced helmsman of our revolutionary vessel;
great gardener of human happiness;
father of nations;
leader, teacher, and friend;
beloved leader of nations;
wise and dearly beloved;
|
You can pick any one from the list above, I don't mind.

Thanks for the comment, it's been a while in coming Skipper. Peppy and I have been throwing this back and forth for a while now, and we came up with these titles, including your very cool experten title in another thread. As I said however, these titles are only a small part of a larger user title/rank/permissions system that we are working very hard on.

Re: The Recent User Title Changes
I don't like the term "Veteran" for members who weren't actual WW2 Veterans.

Re: The Recent User Title Changes
I see what you mean, but in this context it refers to a forum veteran. I've heard similar comments about the digital WWII medals that members can "earn" and also the term "Ace" and "Expert". Besides, the real WWII Veterans are quite clearly indicated on the member list by other means.

Indeed WW, I made an effort to make then quite visible, as they are the sole reason this website exists.

Re: The Recent User Title Changes
No system will ever be perfect and I like the efforts displayed, so I say let's keep it this way. If there is an objection we could always add the term "forum" in front of some terms.
