Re: Salutes! Thank Your Fellow Rogues.
Otto, will we be able to tell people why we saluted like we can with rep points?

No Michelle, but you still have the rep points ability with comments.

Re: Salutes! Thank Your Fellow Rogues.
Yes, but if you salute someone (which shows in public) then you try to add rep (which is private and can carry a message), then you can't.
Another limitation I find: why can't I salute myself, eh?
Looking up four posts above, where's Peppy hiding after all?

Re: Salutes! Thank Your Fellow Rogues.
Peppy is sadly retired from the Forums. There was too much Za for him to handle. (I jest!)
The reason you can't Salute yourself, Za, is because God kills a Kitten every time the Red Rabbi gets Saluted. We don't want PETA running around this place, so have disabled that ability.

According to the local clergy, if you salute yourself, you will go blind. . . .

Re: Salutes! Thank Your Fellow Rogues.
Those two posts above certainly indicate a shift of this forum's orientation towards WW2Comedy

Hello Za,
oh NO need for that. I send about 20 mails a day to all Forum members begging them to salute me - result = 23 salutes Not bad ehh?
Regards
Kruska

Re: Salutes! Thank Your Fellow Rogues.
FYI for the Rogues at Large: Due to a few questions I've received via PM, I've added a brief, one-image tutorial to the first post in this thread concerning Salutes and where to find the Salute icon. I hope it helps!

Re: Salutes! Thank Your Fellow Rogues.
Otto, I dont get a salute icon at bottom right....No problem, I always had trouble saluting in real life...was always getting called back and told to use the whole hand and not just the 3 fingers....well I was a scout too...Is it cos I is a clown? Id love to salute fellow clowns such as ZA but he will just have to take it as read that I cant but he can certainly salute me back....Ill just content myself with placing my hat on head and nodding in agreement.

urqh, the salute icons only appear beneath posts when you are able to salute them. Basically, the icon won't appear beneath your own posts, posts that are older than 90 days, or posts you have already saluted. The salute icons won't appear at all if you have given away your daily allotment. Salutes come with 3 reputations points, but you can always award reputations points to any posts no matter how old, in any amount up to your reputation power.
Are you confused yet?
