That kind of insignia is just about impossible to find. It was technically unofficial. If any were made, they were usually hand made by painting them on leather. The leather often deteriorated or the paint wore off. In addition, they were usually privately purchaced, which means fairly small numbers of people would have bought them to begin with. Good luck, but leather disney patches go for, I'd say a minimum of $100, (probably more) unless you happen accross one someplace. The logo was usually seen on officers jackets, maybe on the unit newsletter, paper, or history, on unit signs (regemental HQ, for example), etc. Quite a rare bird.
By the way, check out http://www.saundersinsignia.com/search.cgi
if you haven't already.

Dac--make that more like $1,000 to $1,500.00 for a Disney patch.
I recently saw one for sale on a site--well--within the last 6 months or so--and it was priced well above the $1,000 mark.
Showed Donald Duck with a few bombs under his left wing and with his right wing--was dropping the bombs.

Yeah, I thought it was quite a bit more, but didn't want to exaggerate! Plus, most of what you see are for fighter/bomber squadrons that are a little more desireable. Thanks for the info though - I'm pretty "out of the loop" since most of my time and money goes to the university now a days!!

Oh, by the way, where did you find out about the logo? That's pretty dern cool!
I've been trying to find info on my grandpa's hospital unit - the 204th. I have found next to nothing over the past 10 years. I bet they had some cool logo too!!!! It's really hard to find info on small units (like signal btns, hospitals) that were just attached to armies or corps.

Doc, I used to not know anything except my grandfather was in the signal corps of the 5th army.
there was a guy that was helping me(I don't rememberhow i got in contact with him orgionaly) find info. on my grandfather.
when i found a couple of v-mails with his unit on them I told him. come to find out he knew my grandfathers BN commander and his son. the BN commander has passed away but his son sent me some pictures an itenerary a short history and a newsletter. the goofy pic was on the news letter and in the history.
I'll find out more from him about the insignia and let you know.

Hi Doc--DB--
Doc--looks like the dealers are trying to do everything they can do to "exaggerate" their .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .............................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ....profits.
SOME insignia is very rare but--the stuff is out there and you can find decent deals from time to time. I know a militaria dealer from San Antonio who has a few Disney painted leather patches and circles for sale--and for quite a bit less than what i've seen and what you posted as well. He even has a few Seabees leather patches and circles done by Disney as well--those are actually more expensive. Go figure.
I hear ya on about being broke much of the time--im in the same boat because im streatched too thin because fo the wide range of what im interested in. Books, DVDS, and militaria. Right now--all i've recently bought are books and DVDs. About 6 weks or so ago--I bought a great set of Grossdeutschland Oberleutnant Panzer shoulderboards for the 1st Panzer Regiment. They are slightly worn but are in excellent condition. I'll be researching these when I get the time.
I saw the Donald Duck piece that was for sale on a militaria site--I do not remember which one it was--possibly Westland militaria or something like that--it was in Europe for sure.
Quite welcome DB
