General Brehon B. Somervell

He was the man responsible for getting the industrial output of the U.S. war machine -may it be toilet paper or a B-29 - to the troops fighting either in Italy, the Rhine or Okinawa.

A Masterpiece of logistics.

There had already been a thread like this (named identically) but I will have to say that field marshal Friedrich Paulus is one of the most underrated, since he has always being blamed for the débâcle at Stalingrad and he was indeed a very capable and professional staff officer who did his best all the time.

Also, field marshals Wavell and Auchinleck. Specially, the latter, who was the one who created the bases of the VIII Army an halted Rommel at Alam Halfa.
