OX and BUCKS Light Infrantry is an unknown quantity at this point
Found this 5 page gallery of D-day photographs on a French site.

http://www.normandiememoire.com/photos/index.htm

Unusually there are images of many injured/dead troops. Pictures that the photographer has used to try and 'show' the horrors.

Any other good photo links used by others?

Is it just me, or are Black and White photos just so more dramatic than colour prints?

Regards Graham

Leitung Panzer,

I believe that they sell 'fender' stickers in the USA bearing the words "S**t happens"

Sorry couldn't resist that one.

Perhaps you will be able to view later.

Regards Graham.

Whoops,

As part of my first post on this thread I did ask if anyone has any favorite photograph sites.

Any body like to add links to such web pages. (These would be sites to do with WW2 of course )

Regards Graham

Question

I got it - over here in soggy old England you need to leave the 'h' off the end : -

http://www.skylighters.org/photos/robertcapa.html

It's a great link - and I still highly recommend Capa's memoir, 'Slightly Out Of Focus' which has been reprinted in paperback.

OTF,

That is one great link

Martin,

Thanks for sorting it so us 'in the drizzle' can view 'em.

This got me sort of thinking
What a great book could be published with so many images available........Any book company people out there. Now is the time what with the 'last' big anniversary due.

Regards Graham.

I know this has nothing to do with the pictures of D-Day, but I would have been honored to fight along side those men, you know?

I was telling my friend the other day I wanted to join the army. She threw a tantrum and asked why. I said I wanted to experience the relationship that only soldiers share. I agree with you Colin.

Not that it helps but, I have four US Army press photos that were taken in the Normandy area. Three of the photos are of captured German soldiers and one of captured German rifles.

I think I made and gave Otto a copy of these pics sometime ago. Now if you could only get Otto to post them???????
