Hi All!

new to this board I start with some not that easy Question:</font>
  • What was the value of a US$ to Swiss Francs in 1944 (average)</font>
  • What was the turnaround of american economy in 1944?)</font>
  • What was the turnaround of american economy in 2002?</font>
I need that information for a small essay about german war economics in ww2. I have the effort in US$ in 1944 - so I need a transfer to today.

Can somebody help me? or provide me some econimy/history - links?

I'd be very happy - thanks a lot!!

Sorry dude, but all I can tell you is that Porsche invented the Volks Wagen (town car)on the 1930s, and that Meschersmidt invented the jet, also on the mid 1930s.

Hope I served,
Feldmarschall GAG

Here's a link to see how rates and inflation has affected the US dollar since 1911 to this date.

Thank you
so the dollar of 1944 has a value of 7.5 cents today. In the example in my essay, a Dollar (1944) is 16.4 Euro (2003)!

@Feldmarschall GAG
I suppose to lift you to Generalfeldmarschall !

Messerschmidt DIDN'T invent the jet-that was Frank Whittle, an RAF Officer. First flying jet was the Heinkel 178 bomber about 1938.

Just a note: A US 1942 - 44 dollar had roughly the equivalent value of 4.2 German 1942 - 44 Gelder Reichmarks.
