Ok, for weeks I have been searching and searching for someone who has a view on Mussolini's politics. Frankly, he was messed up in the head if you ask me. I'm surprised he eventually won though, probably since he got most of the young men in the military with his "Fighting Fascists" idea.

What part are not sound? He did improve the quality of life for the Italian people prior to the war. He implemented a lot of social reform programs. the Italian peoper were better fed since before the first war. His major flaw was his association with Hitler. that dragged Italy into the infernal abyss

What is it you're looking for?
Racial ideologies and things like that or his political views in general...?

I agree PzJgr (with the fact that he made Italian life better prior to WW2)..but maybe Distrubedugg is talking about the fact that Mussolini usually switched his beliefs (for lack of a better word) with the current situations he faced.
For example, I'm currently writing a paper for one of my classes on the persecution of Jews in Italy during the rule of the Fascist Party and I found that for the first few years, Mussolini showed no outward sign of agression towards Jews, but he did have an outright "hate" of blacks. One book stated it really well:
"Mussolini went from Nationalism to Imperialism, from imperialism to white racism and from white racism to anti-semitism."

It might be more productive if you stated what you think his political views were Dd? I presume you've looked into his background and found he was originally an ardent Socialist, but, above this was his overwhelming ambition to reach as high a position as he could, in pursuit of which he was willing to, and did, change horses and take whichever line he could best promote himself by.

I'm looking for his views, like when he swiched his whole standings as a politician. What did he do right the second time around to win finally. What caused the fall of Italy and his power. I just want to know what people think about it.
