Thoughts on who had the best one of these, Gentlemen?
My choice would be the US M1-better ballistic protection than the British Mkii or 111 "Battle Bowlers".
Suppose the German M35 and M43 helmets must have been fairly efficient, or he modern US "Fritz" wouldn't have borrowed the shape.
Any thoughts?
Regards,
Gordon

I'd opt for the M35 followed by the M1 and then the British ; but I'll admit here that this is based on opinion, not evidence.
And the worst ? French, maybe...?

Hands down, the German M-35 is the best designed helmet.

PS, you got that correct, if it were not a good design, we would not have not only borrowed but, stolen that design.
Also, the exact M-35 design is still being used by the Chilean Military.

The german ones are technically great but a pain to wear, every time you go prone your collar will push it down over your eyes. I'd go for the British Mk2 which didn't have this flaw.
