I think this was tried before but it would be interesting to find out our personal fields of interests.
Mine are mainly to do the british. I am interested in Grand Strategy of the allied alliance. I am also interested in the implementation of doctrine in the three services. A pet interest of mine is the historical debates whihc surround the raid on Dieppe in 1942.

We've done this before but you're right, Mahross - it worth 'refreshing' the subject now and again, especially for new members.
As regulars are probably aware by now, my own are : -

let's see now.
late war day and night missions of the Luftwaffe (1943-45)
late war Schnellboot operations, including the KM ships in the Ostsee during 1945.
Fallshirmtruppen, and the Italien campaign, Cassino especially.
Genearl later war armored operations western and eastern fronts....

Lately I have started reading more on the politics in the Nazi Germany 1930´s to 1945.
Some Stalin and USSR background for the campaign.
But my main interest stays with:

While I am as much a 'wargamer' as historian my interests tend toward the scientific end of things:
Electronic warfare
The human nature of war, like leadership, morale, that sort of thing from a scientific 'nuts and bolts' perspective.
TO&E / OOB research. I'm always collecting more for the big volumes I have on each.
Naval warfare and the use of seapower.
My interest in aircraft derived from a need to know in great detail how WW II aircraft performed to improve / redesign a minitures game. This also resulted in a nice collection of 1/72nd aircraft to 'fly' in the game.
Military engineering and fortifications. Being in the construction trade over the years it became an interest.
Engines of war. Everything from catapults to PGMs and how they work, what their effects are etc.
Basically, you could say I'm one of those guys that has to take everything apart to find out how it works.....in the British parlaiance a Boffin...

TA, do you read German? If you do, Erich has a site for you about German WW2 electronic devices and manuals, etc, that will make your mouth water!! I lost the link, but Erich, I am sure, keeps that one!!!

Me? my main interest over the last year anyway was getting back onto these flipping forums, gave up months ago. But hey you cant keep a good warmonger down...Interests? Travelling, military, Arnhem, Zulu wars, Boer wars, Dunkirk and the fall of France, and winding Stevin up.

Stevin, didnt manage to get back to South Africa, went to Saudi instead...needed money to eat....
Came back last week, I didnt become a civvie to get shot at....hey its dangerous out in this world....All I want is to be able to visit foreign warm climes with me kiss me quick hat on and my trousers rolled up to the knees like all good Brits do and people keep taking offence...
