Can someone please elaborate on the quote from Sajer's TFS where he says on page 170, "Eighteen thousand Hitlerjugend had also arrived [at Belgorod 1943] from Silesian camps to recieve their baptism of fire [...]" I can not find anything remotely related to this anywhere. I know that the 12 SS did not go into combat until the Normandy invasion in '44. What is Sajer talking about here???

I suppose he means the recruits or volunteers in the LAH or das Reich or Totenkopf, not HJ per se. Don´t have the info from where the new men came from to these divisions.
