RainbowSon is an unknown quantity at this point
Post

I have become involved in preparing files of Rainbow Division veterans for the Division archives. These files contain different pictures, letters, and other documents submitted by the veteran or family members. I am working on some research of an incident that supposedly took place at Camp Marcus Orr in Salzburg, Austria. Evidently there was an attempted escape by a number of imprisoned Nazi SS soldiers who were being held there. The information submitted that this escape attempt was thwarted by a Rainbow veteran and he was subsequently awarded the French Cross for this act. Does anyone know where I might be able to look to research this story based on the limited information I have? Thanks in advance for any help.
