'Why do we call the world's attention to the fact that we have no past? It isn't enough that Romans were erecting great buildings when our forefathers were living in mud huts. Now Himmler is starting to dig up the villages of mud huts, enthusing over every potsherd and stone axe he finds.'
Hitler at Himmlerīs obsession on searching the origins of the Aryan race

If you're not "Liberal" when you're 20, you have no heart. If you're not "Conservative" when you're 40, you have no head.

Because of the PC denials of the reality of war, a quote you wont find in any book, said by PFC Pootsie Stiemly to my Uncle while they were both taking cover under a 6X6 at Anzio, while "Annie" and company were sending there "Hellos".
"If blood stinks, I'm bleeding to death."

"For a commander of a panzer or motorised division to leave his headquarters without a radio set was considered tantamount to travelling without his head "
As Sepp Dietrich went to 21st panzer Hq in June 1944 in Normandy to hear their commander was away and failed to take a radio with him...

"Sure as hell we have plenty of escort. The Thunderbolts and Lightnings take us to the German border then the 190s and Messerschmitts are with us the rest of the way!"

hereīs another by Sepp, PzJgr...
"What do you think I am? Running a zoo? "
Sepp answered to von der Heydte during the Ardennes operation preparations when the latter asked if he could get pigeons in case his radio failed to operate on landing. ( considering the war situation and supplies available not surprised of Seppīs reaction really )

Sepp Dietrich may not have been a military genius but he had a colorful way of telling you his mind. Thanks.

"Hold on a little longer boys, we're sucking them into 40mm range!" Chief Gunner's mate Jerkins, USS White Plains CVE 66 during the Battle of Samar, 25 Oct 44 as his ship was being shelled by several Japanese heavy cruisers and battleships.
The White Plains managed to get about a half dozen hits with her single 5"/38 gun on the cruiser Chokai disabling at least one turret and engine room forcing the cruiser to break off the action.

Bergman: "Haven't seen you since the day Paris fell"
Bogart: "I remember! The Germans wore Grey, you wore Blue".
