Hello,
I also live in Montreal. I am from Pennsylvania and last summer Jeep promoted a WW2 around the US. I got to see it since the landing strip to the airfield was right next to my house. Got buzzed by a B-17!!
I will keep and eye out for this summer.

I've seen the famous Memphis Belle two times, both were up close, and both by coincidence. I just happened to be around and I spotted it in the air, then followed it to an airport. A low flying B-17 is quite rare.
As for shows, there are plenty of good airshows around the US, I'm not too sure if there are many other different types of WWII shows other than re-enactments. A visit to a good museum is also quite a good time as well.
Welcome aboard to both patriote3945 and Kanga. Nice pic of you and the Belle by the way!

Thanks for the welcoming Otto. That is pretty much how I ended up seeing the show. My house got buzzed my a low flying B-17. There isn't anything like that and the whole time you know what you are looking at, but can't seem to make any sense out of it. That airshow was held in my home town of Mt. Pocono, Pa. I will see if they have anything going on this summer.

Exactly Kanga! I was in Erie, PA (across the state from you) a few years ago and I saw a b-17 flying overhead. I couldn't believe my eyes! It was going in the same direction as I was and I followed it to the local airport. Apparently the Memphis Belle tours the country quite regularly, so it might not be that hard to catch. I hope to see her again sometime.
I don't want to hijack this thread, but I sent you a Private Message about your signature. Why don't you take a look at the Signature Guidelines again. No worries, it's just a little big is all.

No problem, thank you for the heads up. I do want to mention that you have a great forum here. I did check into Jeep and if they have sponsored anything for the summer. It doesn't appear so, but I will keep looking. I have a few gamers that are busy right now doing reenactment for the 327th GIR. That is more towards Illinois.

Thanks Kanga, due to the great members we have, I think it's a rather good Forum too.
You mentioned gamers and reenactments, is your clan a gaming clan and a living history group? If so, I'm impressed, that's quite a comprehensive group, simulating WWII both online and in person!

For those interested, the Commemorative Air Force offers a hour or so flight on their B-17 for $395 from Falcon Field Mesa AZ.

I really hate the term Clan . We are a gaming community that stresses Tactical Realism. A virtual reenactment community so to speak. We try to gather and model ourselves after the 325th GIR as much as we can. Its never perfect, but after 5 years it really has started to become something quite unique.
Its not the easiest thing to keep together. Our servers for the games cost money and many of us help out in building modifications to game for added realism. You can click here to see more about our server. We did just install a new Vritual Warfare Module to the site that allows members to form into squads, other communities to challenge us and arrange anything from trainning to full Theathers that take several months to accomplish.
For us, this is our way of reliving our history, preserving it, and simulating it.
On the Community Home Page I posted a bunch of high quality images of helmets worn durning WW2. They are a must see!!
