A friend gave me this poster, it looks like some kind of propaganda poster but I don't know from what country. I know some arab states sided with Germany during the war. Could this be releated to that? Anyone out there recognize this?

Looks like Arabic writing around the frame and it also appears that the French dude got whacked and the allies are chasing the Germans and the Japanese. hehe (Actually i think it's a pretty cool poster, wanna sell it?)

From what I can tell, FDR, Stalin and Churchill (from L to R) are chasing Hitler, Tojo and Mussolini (from L to R also). You can see the national flags on their horses. It's probably later in the war, since the US is involved and Mussoilini seems to be dismounted and disarmed, probably signifying his loss of power after the Allied invasion of Sicily.
As for tha Arabic text I can't comment, but it could be from any number of arab nations. Any of the northern African states, or another Middle Eastern country. I would probably say it might come from a place like Egypt, where by this time there was a strong Allied presence and powers that be were attempting to gain favor with local arabs in the post war era.

Nice spoof of a Persian miniature painting Obviously a charming rework by some Western artist with a good knowledge of the technique, as far as I can see.

Otto I have to say that that is a remarkable interpretation. lol I had to look at it for a moment before I sAw what you were talking about.
In terms of Arabic....if it indeed is Arabic it would probably come from Iraq.

Either that or Palestine. Maybe Egypt.
If it's not Arabic, it could be Farsi. That would mean it would most likely be from Iran.

Very interesting. Looks like a big ol' fancy political cartoon to me. Definitely unique though.

Why would someone frame a picture of this character in a country that very possibly didn't have anything to do with these specific men/nations? Interesting

You tell me. I distinctly remember seeing some 40 years ago in the home of a long deceased relative a German propaganda print stuck to the wall in a very backward village in Portugal, in hillbilly country, middle of noplace.
I have no idea how it got there, it was some poster concerning the East Front and the march of the Axis allies there.
