before i start, if this is posted in the wrong place i apologise, and could the powers that be move it for me?
A question for you. How much of your time does ww2 take up?
For example - Reading. Do you read on any other topics, or is it solely ww2? I seem to go in fits and starts, I cant read novels unless they really capture my attention (last novel was Da Vinci Code) - At the moment i split my reading between ww2 and Northern Ireland troubles books. Currently im reading Architects of Anhilation by Goltz Aly.
Films - I find all I seem to be watching is war film, be this blockbusters or documentaries/footage.
So all in all at the moment, to sum up the majority of my time is ww2 oriented, other than working, talking to the wife, etc...
Over to you lot.

Definitely makes up a big part of my life. The majority of what I read is WWII material. I'm thinking about it all the time as well. It's just a huge, fascinating topic with many different aspects to study.

Too much, I know...
I read 1-2 books per week on WW2 and also articles on my work every day, but since I have done that for ages I am quite a fast reader. I think it takes some 8-10 hours per week that I read my WW2 books.
Once I restarted in 2002 I noticed that fiction is nothing- what happened really in the world and WW2 is much more interesting and "more cruel"...
Films I watch once or twice a week, mostly listen to the tv while reading. My favourite films are on sci-fi and war so I suppose it goes 50-50.
I also gather old pics, some medals etc so that also takes some of my time and money away...but worth it anyway!

Ha ha. Sometimes my wife would rather me spend more time on the TV watching sports like 'normal' men. Too much time in books, movies and internet surfing for WWII material.

I guess I'm in the minority. Because of my uni work, most of my reading is to do with either philosophy or the crusades with the odd bit of escapist fiction (at the momant either Oscar Wilde or Bernard Cornwall). I still write short stories some of which concern WW2 and the sheer amount of time I spend researching for re-enactment (I'm currently looking at soviet WW2 infantry tactics at platoon level) is pretty heafty. Still, I wouldn't say it dominates my life as with some other folks simply because I have a fair bit else going on.

My only other interest other than WWII is smoking herb. Most of the time I blaze and read/play/design something WWII related at the same time. Weed & World War, a great combo!

Probably too much, but it's my time to spend. If you can't do what you like in your limited (mine sure is) free time, what's the point?
As they say in the X-Files...We are not alone.

90 percent of books purchased are related, internet sites probably 50 percent related, tv movies, 30 percent maybe, arguing, talking with others 20 percent, but I generally find modt things in life can be aquainted in some way with the subject. Its nothing to feel bad about, some may call us anoraks or train spotter types. I feel it is all about rememberance, especially to those who have living memories of those who served in that war, my own father, his brothers and relatives etc, plus the fact being a vet myself from a later period, military subjects seem to have become paramount at the expense of others. I am not and never will feel sorry about that.

80% WW2 and 20% on other areas of history just one problem I wish I had more time to read my books. I read about 5-10 hours a week and enjoy a good TV war documentary and my choice for a good factual war film goes to Downfall and war fiction would be Cross of Iron.

Don't feel bad, I remember Erich did the same thing a few years ago. He came up with a good user name but then switched back to just plain old Erich.

I was bitten by the WWII bug when I saw my first episode of Baa Baa Black Sheep. Since then, the Corsair rules and all other planes drool!!
I'm not obsessed with it where I can tell you climb rates of the most obscure sub type of a given plane, but I am more of a general knowledge guy. It probably doesn't take up more than 5% of any given day, which is why I learn so much from these forums. You guys are the experts, I am just the humble servent!!

I am more into boating than WWII, but this is my bad weather hobby. I woul say that my relax time is 20% WWII, 10% fiction reading, 10% computers, 40% boating, 10% sking, and the rest is what ever I get trapped into doing
