Default Director Airborne Museum ,Oosterbeek fired

The board of the museum have decided to fire the director Frans Smulders, he will eave on 31 december this year or even earlier.
only have a dutch newspaper article about it.
The board has decided this as they good not cope with the way he did his job, they have start looking for another director

I totaly agree with them, if he would stay the museum would not be the same as it was within a couple of years, all modern stuff, and no room for displays

I have seen too many WW2 museums I love change to "modern museums" - would hate to see it happen with this one, of which like many people here I am a member of their Friends. Sorry to read someone has lost their job, but happy to read the Hartenstein will be the same, wonderful place.

Unhappy Re: Director Airborne Museum ,Oosterbeek fired

I'm sorry to see that there seem to have been problems at the Hartenstein. Reading between the lines of recent Newsletters I had wondered if all was well.....

Like Sommecourt, I've become rather weary of 'PC Museums'.
