I don't have a copy of it but my favorite pic of WWII shows the five MArines and one Navy Corpsman, who are raising Old Glory on top of Mount Suribachi on Iwo Jima. The photo was taken by Joe Rosenthal-now, and sadly, deceased. :-((

Well, I don't think is as much my 'favorite' photo as it is my most interesting one! Its truly surreal, and I don't know the background story at all. :S
There are too many pictures to choose from to find a favorite! Or maybe it is the second one? Similar but silly!

The picture above with the gun on the boy´s head is from a Russian movie actually. Very documentary like, unfortunately don´t recall the name right now.

Ah hah! So the Germans created the Yetti in an attempt to create an Ultimate Soldier that could combat the Russians during the winter!

Like a lot of modern Russian cinema it's stark and quite dark with a lot of metaphorical despair, but to my mind it's one of the most realistic portrayals of events on the Eastern Front.

To avoid derailing this thread with all things cinematic I think my current favourite photo's are the "This man is your friend" series of posters...
