Default The Word Is Getting Around

Since I first found this website I have been mentioning it to every Volunteer I come across at the Kruse WWII Victory Museum in Auburn,Indiana.
One of the fulltime staff members even has been on here asking questions about different things that pertain to artifacts that we have on display and he told me just today that he is very impressed with this website and being able to get info on WWII artifacts has been great. He says the people on here are very much in the know of WWII info. Thanks again guys for helping.

Hi Museumworker, I too used to volunteer for various Museums.

Anyway, that said, a few years ago, I don't remember exactly when, there was a guy I had met at a Militaria show who turned out to be a teacher at some Highschool up in the North somewhere. Anyway, this teacher used this site as reference material as well as gleening info from various areas here and using it to test his students knowledge. I know this teacher used this site off and on for about two years. I do not know if this person still teaches or not but, it was nice when I recieved a gift in the mail from this teacher, as his way of thanking me for steering him to this site. I also used to get emails from many of his students, thanking me as well. I never could convince them that all this was not because of me but; was because of everyone else-especially Otto & Peppy.

As a sometimes volunteer (me), what areas do you work in at the Museum? Me, I was in the History Collections at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History. I handled obejects of all kinds. My favorites of course, were the weapons and equipment as wellas the militaria they have. The worst "assignment" if you can call any of them bad? was when I had to help them count some 13 or so thousand, and very tiny, blue beads-made of glass. These beads all were about the size of a large gnat.

C.Evans,
The Kruse WWII Victory Museum also has some other museums in the same huge building which include the Kruse Horsepower Automobile and Carriage Museum, A Baseball Museum, A television Museum, The James Dean Gallery, 150 Corvettes from Pro Team Corvette in Napoleon,Ohio and The Northeastern Indiana Racing Museum which we preserve the history of auto racing in Northern Indiana and I'm on the Board Of Directors. I help wherever I'm needed and alot of the time it's in the WWII Museum doing this and that. Also being built at this time on the same property is the Andy Granatelli Racing Museum and The Early Ford Museum. We have four different websites, but you can get to all of them by going to these two at: Horsepower: The Kruse Automotive & Carriage Museum Or World War II Victory Museum

I haven't had a bad experience yet, but the best times are the parades in our area because we have several restored military vehicles and vintage race cars that can be driven in the parades and that's a blast.

Check out the Operation Welcome Home 4th of July 2008 event for Vietnam vets which will take place out of our WWII Museum.

It's like a dream come true being a volunteer at this fine facility that the Kruse Foundation has put together.
